Tahun ajaran baru telah tiba, saatnya peserta didik memulai proses pembelajaran. Namun karena masih dalam kondisi pandemi COVID-19 maka proses belajar mengajar belum bisa dilakukan secara tatap muka. Begitu juga dengan kegiatan MPLS bagi peserta didik baru yang pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya dilaksanakan secara tatap muka untuk mengenalkan lingkungan sekolah kepada siswa baru namun pada tahun ini kegiatan tersebut dilakukan secara daring. Setiap sekolah mempunyai metode sendiri-sendiri dalam mengaplikasikan MPLS daring tersebut tentunya disesuaikan dengan kondisi peserta didiknya. Di TK KUSUMAJAYA Desa Bogoharjo misalnya, para guru membuat video sederhana yang berisi ibu guru yang mengenalkan dirinya dengan membawa kertas bernama nama-nama guru, hal ini dilakukan agar peserta didiknya bisa mengenal nama-nama guru di TK tersebut. Lain halnya dengan yang dilakukan oleh SDN 2 Sedeng. Sekolah tersebut membuat video profil sekolah dan disebar ke peserta didik baru. Video tersebut berisi tentang pengenalan sarana dan prasarana sekolah, tata tertib sekolah, dan profil Bapak Ibu Guru. SMPN 1 Pacitan melaksanakan MPLS daring dengan melakukan live streaming melalui kanal youtube. Peserta didik mengikuti MPLS dari rumah masing-masing dengan tetap mengikuti schedule yang telah ditetapkan oleh sekolah.
Sesuai tahapan yang ada di Peraturan Bupati nomor 23 tahun 2020 tentang Pedoman Teknis PPDB tahun 2020/2021, MPLS akan dilaksanakan 13 s.d 15 Juli 2020.
