SEPATU KITA (Sekolah Dapat Upah, Keterampilan Tambah) merupakan inovasi dari SMPN 1 Arjosari yang mampu menembus TOP 99 Kompetisi Inovasi Pelayanan Publik (KIPP) yang diselenggarakan oleh Kementerian Pendayagunaan Aparatur Negara dan Reformasi Birokrasi. Hari ini (Jumat, 10 Juli 2020) adalah tahapan presentasi dan wawancara untuk disaring lagi menjadi TOP 45. Bertindak sebagai presenter adalah Bapak Bupati Pacitan, Kepala Dinas Pendidikan, dan Kepala SMPN 1 Arjosari. Tahun ini, presentasi dilakukan secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom. Setiap inovasi diberi alokasi selama 20 menit yang terdiri dari 7 menit presentasi dan 13 menit tanya jawab.
Bupati Pacitan memaparkan bahwa SEPATU KITA (sekolah dapat upah keterampilan tambah), merupakan inovasi pelayanan publik dari smp negeri 1 arjosari, kab. Pacitan, sejak tahun 2016, sebagai upaya mengatasi masalah siswa yang sering terlambat, sering tidak masuk sekolah, yang disebabkan jarak antara rumah dengan sekolah cukup jauh, kondisi jalan yang curam, terjal serta sering terjadi banjir dan tanah longsor. Selain itu juga karena keterbatasan sarana transportasi.
Siswa yang menghadapi masalah tersebut diberikan tempat tinggal semacam asrama, dengan memanfaatkan ruang yang tidak terpakai di sekolah. Pada sore hari setelah selesai sekolah, para siswa diberikan tambahan pelajaran agama oleh pengajar dari pondok pesantren terdekat, dan keterampilan budidaya serta pengolahan jamur, tanaman sayur, membuat sapu lidi dan budidaya ikan lele. Hasilnya selain untuk konsumsi siswa tersebut, juga dijual di kantin sekolah, dan hasilnya diberikan kepada siswa sebagai “upah”. Inovasi ini sejalan dengan kebijakan kami , yaitu “nihil putus sekolah”.
Bertindak sebagai sebagai juri adalah Tim Panel Independen yang diketuai oleh Prof. J.B Kristiadi, DEA. Tim panel sangat mengapresiasi inovasi SMPN 1 Arjosari dan berharap agar inovasi ini dapat direplikasi di sekolah lain baik di Kabupaten Pacitan maupun sekolah di luar Pacitan.
